The king's wife did not give any kind of charity nor did any kind of worship and used to ask her husband i.e. the king to do so.

One day the king had gone to the forest alone, only the queen and the maid were left in the palace. After the king's departure, Brihaspati Dev took the form of a monk and went to the king's house to ask for alms. Taking the form of a monk, Brihaspati Dev said to the queen Bhiksham Dehi. The queen has spoken to Sadhu Maharaj, Maharaj, I have become troubled by this daily charity. My husband is enough for this work. Please do so that you destroy all our money so that I can live comfortably. Sadhu Maharaj has said Devi! I have never seen something strange like you. The son in the children of the goddess and the wealth in the property is dear to all; No living being wants to live apart from them. Even sinners crave wealth and children.
Brihaspati sermon to the queen
So Goddess why do you think that you have more money, then feed the people on an empty stomach, donate food to the needy people, give water to the thirsty with a cup, give respect to the Brahmins, give money to the people according to their wishes. Give money for the marriage of the unmarried girls of poor people and get them married. Build a free Resorts for the rest of the traveling people. Get temples built etc. There are many such works of religion which you can do when you have excess of money. By doing such deeds, your honor and respect will increase and your name will be world famous. Along with this, the burden of all the sins of this birth and rebirth done unknowingly will end.
Brihaspati Dev, taking the form of a sage, gave many similar sermons to explain to the queen, but the purity of the mind of the queen did not accept all these things and said to the sadhu maharaj that my husband is enough to preach the religion. Please do not teach religion lessons and do as I have told you because I do not need such money so that I can feed others other than myself and all my time is spent in raising the money.
Queen's wish
In spite of repeated efforts of Brihaspati Dev, when bitter words came out of the queen's mouth again and again, in the end Brihaspati Dev said----- “O Goddess! Now if you have such a desire, then it will be so, but now do as I am saying. Wiping the house on Thursday itself, cleaning the house only on Thursday, taking out the dirt of the house on Thursday itself. Washing his hair (for a woman), and asking the king to clean his hair only on Thursday, that is, make a beard, consume meat and alcohol in food and get his clothes washed by others. In this way, if you have to do only seven Thursdays, Goddess, all your wealth will be destroyed; Saying this, the sage Maharaj went away.
The queen did as told by Brihaspati Dev in the form of Sadhu Maharaj. Only three Thursdays passed by the queen while doing so that all the wealth of the king was destroyed and the king's family started craving for food for both the times and was deprived of the pleasures of the world. Then the king told the queen that Goddess, you stay here, I go to some other place and look for work because everyone knows me here, so I cannot do any work here. The king said that Devi, stealing in his country (where we are living) and begging food in a foreign country (from his village to another village or city) is the same, saying that the king went abroad.
King's foreign trip
Going abroad, the king used to bring wood from the forest and sell it in the city. In this way the king started discharging his life. Here the queen and the maid started living unhappy, they used to have food on the day they got food, on the other day they had to sleep on an hungry stomach. While doing this, the queen and the maid became very upset, at one time it came that due to not getting food for 7 consecutive days, the queen and the maid had to sleep hungry, then the queen said to the maid---- O maid! My sister lives here in a nearby town. He is very rich.
Maid's request
Maid, you go there and ask for around 25 kg of grain, which will last for some time. The maid obeyed the queen and went there, but the queen's sister was worshiping Lord Brihaspati on that day. When the maid saw the queen's sister, she said-- Queen, your sister has sent me, give me about 25 kg of grain. Thus the maid asked the queen several times but the queen did not answer because the queen was listening to brihaspativar vrat katha at that time.
On not getting the answer, the maid got very sad and got very angry but came back from there without saying anything and came back and said to the queen--- your sister is very arrogant. He didn't give any answer to my words. She doesn't even talk to small people, that's why she didn't even look at me, so I came back from there. The queen said----- it is not her fault in that, when bad days come, then no one gives support. The person who gives support in the time of objection is his own, only in the time of objection, good and bad are known.
Fault of fate
So! Now whatever God wills will happen. It is all the fault of our fate. Here the sister of that queen thought that my sister's maid had come, but because of hearing the brihaspativar vrat katha, I could not speak to her. If the maid must have told all this to my sister, what would my sister be thinking about me, she must have been very sad. After thinking all this, the queen's sister became very sad and decided that as soon as possible in the morning, I will go to her sister.
Sister's Arrival
When the next day the queen's sister reached the queen's house, she said to the sister--- "Sister, I'm sorry I didn't answer your maid, even looked at her, because I was fasting on Thursday and At the time when the maid arrived, Brihaspati was worshiping Dev and listening to Brihaspativar vrat katha. While listening to brihaspativar vrat katha, I do not get up nor talk to anyone, so I could not speak anything to your maid.
Tell me why the maid had gone. The queen said---Sister! We have nothing to eat. I had sent the maid to take some grains to you so that we can pass for a few days comfortably, now you know why we are in such condition because if we have anything hidden from you. Sister said, Queen Brihaspati Dev fulfills everyone's wishes, your maid had reached my house while listening to brihaspativar vrat katha. That's why your wish must have been fulfilled. Look, maybe grain is kept somewhere in the house.
Queen's wish fulfilled
When the queen went inside the house according to the sister's request, she found a pot full of grains. Seeing all this, the queen and the maid were very happy. Then a thought came in the mind of the maid who said to the queen, "Look queen, we do not get food grains, so we keep fasting anyway, you know very well that we have lived only by drinking water for the last seven days". The queen said yes, if you say maid then you have been right, but basically tell me what you want to say.
Question of Brihaspativar Vrat Katha

Determination to listen to Brihaspativar Vrat Katha
The queen and the maid decided that from now on every Thursday we will also do the same and did the same. It was only a few Thursdays that the money again came to the queen. When the queen again started laziness, then the maid said that the queen used to be lazy in the same way before, you used to have trouble in keeping money, the work of charity and charity was not done by you, that is why all your wealth was destroyed. Now we have got wealth again by the grace of Lord Vishnu, so again you feel laziness. We have got this wealth after a lot of troubles, so now we should do charity. Queen, spend your money in auspicious works so that your family's fame increases and you get heaven.
Then the queen said yes maid, you are telling the truth. Then the queen started doing good deeds, her fame started spreading. One day the queen and the maid started thinking that they do not know how the king will be, what will be his condition, nothing is known. Then the queen and the maid prayed to God to send our king to us by any means.
The king's lament
Here, as usual, the king would bring the wood without tax and go to the city and sell it, so that he could take only one meal at a time. Even today the king went to the forest to pick up wood and began to remember his old days, while remembering, suddenly he started crying and sitting at a place started crying, then Brihaspati Dev came in the form of a monk and said--- Lumberjacks! Why do you cry, what's the problem with you?
The king said---- O Sadhu Maharaj! You know everything what is hidden from you and the king told the sadhu all the things about his condition like this. The sage said, do not be upset now, keep fasting on Thursday and listen to brihaspativar vrat katha and worship Lord Vishnu in this way in the root of banana. Everything will be fine for you. You will be again as you were before.
The king said, Sadhu ji, I do not have much money left with me that after having one meal, I will be able to have food for the next day also, then from where will I be able to get the goods to worship Brihaspati Dev. Then Brihaspati Dev i.e. the monk said that you go to the city to sell wood on Thursday, you will get double the money every day, so that you will be able to eat food and will also be able to bring goods for worship.
The king said, Sadhu ji, all this is fine, but I do not know the story of Brihaspati Dev, then how will I be able to complete this worship. The sage said ok, then listen to the story of Jupiter---- " Which you will find in the next chapter ".
